My cat's an idiot should I take him to the vet?

I love my cat, I really do, he's a sweetie. Whenever i'm sick he lays with me, never leaves my side. But there are times were I wonder if he doesn't have some kind of feline mental retardation. Today I was cooking some hamburger meat on the stove, the meat was finished and I turned the stove all the way to high (electric burner high) to melt some cheese on top, I turned for a few seconds to make sure my toddler wasn't in the kitchen when I hear the most horrible blood curtailing scream (it really did sound like a woman) it was my cat, he jumped on the stove (first time he ever did this) knocked the pan of food to the floor and landed on the read hot burner for about a second before he jumped and hit his head on the exhaust fan and fell to the floor. I looked at his paw and the hair around it is burned and there looks to be a 2nd degree burn on the bottom of his front right paw and 1st degree burns on his two back feet. I'm not sure if I should take him into the vet, he's a in door cat so I don't think he will need to worry about contamination, I put a little aloe and a bandage on his feet and I put his kitty slippers on him (cute little suede shoes for cats), but I don't know if I should take him to the vet , what do you think?

Abuse or neglect of a horse?

Hi, I have a few questions about horses.I am a huge animal lover and feel that all things living deserve compion and understanding. anyway, I drive by a male black horse that has a barn and a fair amount of room to wander, maybe a quarter acre, but i NEVER EVER have seen anyone with him. Doesn't matter what time of the day or night for at least three years. This poor horse looks so depressed that it breaks my heart . He looks so lonley. I have seen him eat many times so i think that he gets food. What he eats i don't know. I have parked my car and walked quite a ways to get to him in the bitter cold and snow bringing carrots to try to get him to come to me to no avail. I have spoken with animal control about this and according to Colorado law and there is nothing that anyone can do. He is considered LIVESTOCK. What does that mean? When it's *** cold out there and i mean the kind of cold that cracks your face when you walk out the front door. Why do people not think that any animal doesn't feel the same way. And think about it, if no one gave you any attention day in day out what would most all of us feel like? These animals are at our mercy. All of GODS creatures. Just because they are animals do they not feel lonley, neglected, sad, bored? Help me please to understand. I don't get it. If people want a yard ornament then go out and buy a plastic pink Flamingo . All of us , animals for sure included, deserve respect and care. They founded our Freedom based on ideas that seemed radical at the time and risking that they would not come out as winners because they valued the the possible end result of Freedom. Just remember that by voting for the winning horse, you are VOTING FOR A HORSE. Why not just vote for where your principles and ideas are? Is it really bad for you to lose? I really don't think you should worry that much, when I was a junior in high school I pierced my lip 3 times.. one right after the other.. with a freakin thick safety pin.. and slow as hell (since I can't ever pierce things fast) I got 1 on each side (snake bites basically) and the middle too and it didn't hurt as much as I expected it too so my whole point is that it didn't hurt that much for me going through that so unprofessionally so it should hurt a lot less for you getting it done professionally.

Unexplained fever with dizziness and hot flashes?

For the past month I have been running a fever of around 100.9 101.8 being the highest. When I stand I get really dizzy and have hot flashes. I'm also extreamly fatigued. I'm not sure if this corralates but I also have a really bad pain in the bone that runs down the left side of the back of my neck. [I'm 20 so it's not menopause and I know for a fact i'm not pregnant.] I went to the doctor and he's done blood work and a chest xray and told me to 'just take it easy and call if anything gets worse.' Why doesnt the law protect my grandchild?

Since death of my grand-daughters parents we have had guardianship of her(maternal grandparents) We verbaly agreed to days and times to see her which we were going to do anyway, but since grand-mother was dying of cancer and grand-father was also sick they said they wanted their daughter to take over picking her up etc. 7 years have gone by, they have both died and the situatiin out there is horrible for her. Yelling, swearing, aunt cheating on her husband and many more things. When we went to the lawyer to cut down the time out there we were told she had to be 14 or unless bodily harm was done to her. I hate to think what that means. She is 11 years old and gets emotionally sick going out there and is treated very badly, she wants us to try again. Will it be the same story again though? Two big emotional problems. I need to work through them. Please help!?

I am claustrophobic around people. It terrifies me to be in a large crowd and I usually prefer standing off to the side to avoid being near others. What I learned to do what turn my fears into my likes. Instead of saying I'm afraid of this... I say, I like this... I want this... I still have issues to this day, but thinking in that way, it helps me be less terrified and helps me face my fears of being near people. About being emotional, tear down the wall and start being more honest with yourself and your friends. You owe them your honesty and they should know your true feelings. If something is bothering you or hurting you, wouldn't it be nice to pour your heart out once in a while with a few tears? It relieves a lot of stress and also helps when your friends support you and give you feedback/advice. It's hard to do this for people who are closed off, to me it would feel like maybe I'm not worthy enough to be their friend, so that's why there's this barrier between us. If you've got true friends who want to be there for you, don't expect them to give you their all when you're not doing the same.

CHI straightener question! FAKE?

Okay so I recently bought a CHI straightener from folica.com and it seems to be working pretty good but it doesn't feel the way my OLD CHI feels like. The outside isn't sleek and smooth, it's kind of rough and has the words FAROUK SYSTEMS USA imprinted on the outside along with the words CHI imprinted on it too. Now that I'm looking at it, it looks nothing like the CHI that I bought at Costco and broke after 2 years of usage. The LED on is red instead of clear when it's off, the warning on the inside is a sticker and not carved on like it should be and the plug is sort of different too, the ons are different shapes and stuff. How long until i recover from an ankle injury?

I sprained my ankle while jogging in school on may 19th , it was pretty bad , very swollen and extremely bruised up and obviously was in a lot of pain . Was on crutchers for about 3 weeks and couldn't go to school as a result of this . The next day i went down to the ER to get an xray to make sure there was no fracture and yea there was no fracture. The following week i went i went to get a follow up on my ankle and my ankle barely made progress so i was told to get another x ray because sometimes fractures don't appear right away , again i had no fracture . I called the physiotherapist to make an appointment but she told me that i had to go with the school insurance since the accident happened during school property , i told the school nurse and she told me that they're not responsible for it since it wasn't that "bad" and they didn;t take me to the hospital" so now i keep gettin kicked back and forth . So cant go to a physiotherapist and i just started walking about 3 weeks ago . How ever my ankle is still pretty bang up , a bit swollen and it still hurts a lot even wen im walkin or simply not movin it .. i went to get another follow up on my ankle on monday and the doctor said to give it a week , but honestly don't think its enough since it still hurts and its a bit swollen , does any1 know what i could do to speed up recovery because my ankle would hurt even if im not walkin and just resting . I need suggestions on pacifier breaking!?

My daughter is 17 months old.. she loves her soothie (her pacifier).. She transitioned VERY well from a bottle to a cup.. no problems at all...I took the bottles away completely when she turned 1. Now I'm having trouble with the pacifier. I try to only give it to her during the night time or during naps.. but the problem I am facing is that I also have a 6 month old who takes a pacifier... I will take my oldest daughters away and she will end up with one anyways.. she steals it from her little sis!.. the only idea I can come up with is to only let my youngest have her pacifier when she naps and sleeps at night also.. but I feel like I'm taking her infancy away from her...But then again she doesn't really even use the pacifier except to fall asleep so it would be ok, right?... Fluctuating idle on 1995 Mercury Tracer Trio 1.9L?

Idling on my 1995 Mercury Tracer Trio (1.9L) recently started fluctuating wildly when I shift the automatic transmission into REVERSE. When reversing, you can feel the car surging slightly, like a bunny hop. I also notice the idle fluctuates a little also when in DRIVE but stopped (eg. foot on the brake at a traffic light) but nowhere near as bad as when in REVERSE. If I shift into NEUTRAL or PARK while waiting at the traffic light, the car idles normal again. Any idea what could be causing this?

During my husbands last deployment I moved in with my parents and I brought my dogs (two 9 month old pit/lab mixes Sadie and Smokey) with me. My parents had a 13 year old German/ Golden retriever mix (Senta). My mom brought her outside on a leash and I kept my girls on a leash. I walk in front of my girls as we walked towards Senta, we had a very calm introduction and after a few we all went inside and we had no real problems. when filling the fuel tank on my 87 ford bronco 2 the gas will come spitting back at me unless I have the nozzel in with the handle slightly ****** to the right. Right now the board rooms and Executive Offices are 95% occupied by white males. When they have roughly 50% women, 10% blacks etc then Affirmative Action will have been successful. Conversely in janitor jobs and the jobs that require real manuel labor, whites are under represented. I believe that a better logic is meritocracy: you get what you work for and if you do not get it, then you did not work hard or smart enough for it. The same goes for relationships. At some point, you need to be clear about your intentions. You also need to be clear about the goal, sometimes the price to pay is too steep. The trouble is that matters of the heart always cloud your judgment My only suggestion is to make yourself the best person that you can - mentally and physically fit. If this person is not to his liking, I am sure that someone will come your way that will appreciate you better. The key is that he needs to pursue you, not the other way around.
