Would you eat mold on food? Why?

The type of mold that grows on food, say a head of cauliflower for instance.... would you throw it out? Eat it? or Eat around the mold? Is this type of mold really bad for you to ingest? I know it's not the kind that grows in the air...I know that kind is really bad for you.
