Should you stay out of school from bronchitis? (a bad cold)?

i went to the doctor and he told me i had bronchitis so he gave me some nurofen, but claims that you just have to wait to cure it, and antibiotics dosent help at all. so what should i do about it, like any tips. and also should i stay out of school from it?
