Why is racism so big here?

I had this discussion in school. And yes, I agree. I do notice that when someone does something to a black person, they immediately call it "racist". But why? why does everything have to be about race? It not all about that, and the world is not a racist (a few people, yeah) but not all over. I really wish one day, people will stop using this line, it's getting very old.
