Guy trouble!!! Please Help? DDoes he like me back?

Theres this guy in my homeroom . He constantly stares at me. He never talks to me anymore. We used talk all the time. In our cles together he sits in the front of the room. And he always finds a reason to look back at me Either stretching. Or when im in a group of people looking at us like were crazy. . He stood up for me when someone called me ugly .Last week he came over to me and sat in the seat nnext to me and told the other person to move to his seat. He holds doors open , takes my stuff, and is now shy around me. One time he took my gles. He's not the type of guy to be shy around girls.We used to talk in the begginning of the year all the time after he started acting like above hes shy and doesnt talk to me anymore. Instead of talking to me he likes to show off infront of me. oh and fixes his hair alot around me. Today durin our last cl he kept staring at me. i would look over at him and he would turn back around fast. Lets call him Jay.
